Better the word to be a category, but it is also good. I think the Title and Metadata help the SEO. There are some points for SEO like:
- use the Yoast plugin or another SEO plugin
- see the Google Trends or another resource on what is in demand to use in keywords
- include keywords to the title, Metadata descr, paragraph titles
- have HTTPS
- use some articles as main and others to link to them
- tune the site to be fast loaded
- optimize the database, maybe with phpMYadmin
- and more
