WordPress is easy to learn, use and maintain, with very big support (videos, lessons, articles, and very good documentation), it has a lot of FREE and PAID plugins and themes.
Comparing Joomla has less in everything in terms of volume, BUT it is for more advanced users, it uses MVC and more, (it has build-in cache functionality e.t.c) it is a level above NOT GOOD FOR STARTERS. The plugins and themes cost less.
The market prefers WordPress.
You must see not what is in general, BUT what is for you good, for your own reasons
I prefer Joomla.
