Well the raw information must be formated, speaking about RDBMS, in 3rd normal form.

Then can be stored and managed to a RDBMS like Oracle.

There are a lot of tuning, security, managment, budget, personnel and other topics.

The results maybe speed, accurancy, less working time, study of data, and more.

The organizational data and info are going to have a DB with a mirror of them in order to facilitate the operation and the managment of the organization.
